Scanning audit and review at Freshways
Freshways is a wholesaler of food and dairy products. It offers milk, cream, yogurt, cheese, butter and spreads, eggs, juices, and other products. Currently Freshways employ between >501 to 1,000
Challenge: Freshways, a dairy milk facility in London, was using a SCADA and scanning system to monitor their milk production and ensure quality control. However, they were experiencing some issues with the system and were unsure if it was functioning properly. They needed a review and health check on the current setup to ensure that the system was working efficiently and effectively.
Solution: Faedah Solutions, a technology and Automation company, was contacted to conduct a full health check and backup of the Cognex scanners used and the SCADA system. The team of experts from Faedah Solutions carried out a comprehensive review of the system to identify any potential issues or areas for improvement.
During the review, the team discovered that the SCADA system was not properly configured for the specific needs of Freshways, and it became apparent the system was from a previous version or an older source. The system was generating a lot of unnecessary data and alerts, which was causing confusion and inefficiencies in the production process. The team recommended some changes to the SCADA package given the rapid advancements in this field and the importance to stay current with the latest developments. This would help to reduce the amount of data and alerts generated and ensure that only relevant information was being reported to the management.
