DC Norris manufacture and install process equipment for the food industry at their factory in Great Gransden, UK.
They have a demonstration suite where they can demonstrate the process capabilities of the equipment they manufacture, including the making of trial soups / sauces / fillings for customers, using their cooking vessels and their rapid cooking (Jet Cook™) system.
As part of a project, they required Technical support to gain Environmental Health approval and registration as a manufacturing site. The Faedah Solutions team have worked closely with DC Norris for many years and understand their process, equipment and team well. Wayne Johnson (Faedah Managing / Sales Director) was happy to help.
With 30 years of food industry technical experience, Wayne was well placed to know what was required to gain approval for the site. Registering the site with the local authorities and then auditing the facility to produce the gap analysis and plan of action to ensure the tight timescales where met.
With the high standards already established in the facility, for carrying out customer trials, it was more system introductions and practical allergen segregation processes that required introducing. Stuart Rigby, DC Norris Product & Process Manager, was the main point of contact and project co-ordinator. Working with Stuart, the process changes, allergen validation, team training were quickly introduced.
The team use the Faedah Solutions Check Sure® Paperless check system to carry out the process checks, goods in and despatch checks required. Running on a mobile tablet, it allows the team to record the checks where they are needed and with the use of the devices built in camera, photos can be taken of raw materials, labels, finished product images, reducing the need for keying in information.
Following a successful audit and approval by the local Envoronmental Health Officer, the site have moved their demo facility to the next level.
“It is always a pleasure working with Wayne and Faedah Solutions. Their professionalism and ability to think out of the box, but also understanding of both the customer and the end users needs now and for the potential future, saves time and money. Their background prior to setting up Faedah, working in technical roles in retail, food service, food manufacturing and processing equipment, genuinely puts them in a unique position and gives them a full understanding of the food industry, and its requirements. Their hands on approach compared to other companies, in my opinion, sets them apart in their area of expertise. I look forward to working with Wayne and the team again in the near future, and I would like to thank them for their patience and also making work fun.”
